excerpt - A Down Trend 2014: Bitcoin
|
If
electronic currencies have a bright future (compare with the “up” above),
one of the precursors, Bitcoin, is increasingly heavily supervised
uncontrolled, which takes away much of what made it a success. Some believe
that Bitcoin is as compelling as the Internet was in the 90s. In reality,
Bitcoin is the equivalent of the Altavista search engine which nobody
remembers despite (or even because of) the Internet’s massive development
and search tools. Here, the Internet equivalent is electronic currencies which
have yet to find their way between innovation and stability. This precursor
is, therefore, fated to a slow death or a radical transformation. In any
case, by the end of 2014, it will no longer be its speculative potential
which will make the headlines as in 2013.
