The unbearable lightness of QE in summer 2012 - the US, British and
Japanese central banks out of the game (Excerpt)
The American, British (1) and Japanese central banks can only come to the
conclusion that their massive liquidity injections haven’t created any growth.
And that they cost their countries’ real economy increasingly dearly. In the
United States, it’s nearing an additional $3 of debt to generate $1 of growth
(2). Japan has stagnated for twenty years despite the overdoses of financial
stimuli: and the Bank of England is under fire from increasing criticism for its
inability to prevent the United Kingdom from falling back into recession despite
its serial QE (3)...
In China, Any US Degree Just Won't Do
"I don't think I can find a job in the United States easily because of my

name and school not be identified, as do the other students interviewed for this
article. "But back in China, I have nowhere to go either. No one has ever heard
of my college – it doesn't even sound like a university. How can I even get an
interview?"...

Abe can expect little sympathy from nominal allies during Okinawa
visit
When Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visits Okinawa for a meeting Saturday with
Gov. Hirokazu Nakaima and other local politicians, he’ll be sitting down mostly
with fellow Liberal Democratic Party members or those who won with LDP support.
Unfortunately for Abe, they all strongly oppose the relocation of U.S. Marine
Corps Air Station Futenma to Henoko in the northern part of the main island, a
policy dear to the prime minister and the mainstream of his party...
'Pivot' could cost Obama, Asia dearly
Recommendations of a leading US think-tank to mark President Barack
Obama's second inauguration inadvertently exposed the archaic nature of most
American foreign policy discourse regarding China's rise. Yet criticism of the
"pivot to Asia" correctly underlined the schizophrenic policy, which rather than
improve security outcomes is helping fuel all-out confrontation in East Asia...

The hypocrisy of the government knows no bounds.
I have said repeatedly,
and continue to say, that I am against all gun control at the moment because our
government is extremely violent and not only do I not expect it to protect the
American people in general, I believe it is far more concerned with protecting
the status quo from the people.

Can the E.U. become the world’s policeman?
I realize that even a year ago, that statement would have seemed absurd. I
certainly couldn’t have written it in the immediate aftermath of the 2011 Libya
operation, during which France, Britain and a dozen other nations were barely
able to sustain a brief war, involving no ground troops, against a poorly armed
